Opening Sequence - Idea and Feedback

Our group has thought about, making the theme of opening sequence as a psychological thriller. A man who's little sister was murdered and now is seeking for revenge.

The feedback that we had is that our idea of the "hair" is a different kind of obsession however not that unique from other films.

We need to make research of our Narrative Approach e.g. Flashbacks. (An opening sequence cannot have a flashback after a flashback.)

Tripod -

* Be very careful on extending the legs or it will snap.
* Always lead the legs first when putting the tripod on the bag.
* Do not lose the attachments.
* Be sure tighten the attachment on the camera so it wont fall.
* Make sure the tripod is stable and firm when filming.

Camera -

* Always make sure that the camera is fully charged before filming.
* When putting the tape in the camera, make sure that you do not force it because it is automatic.
* Always put your hand in the strap when holding he while filming.

Assessment Of Individual Presentation and Blog

For the assessment of Individual Presentation and Blogger Assessment our teacher color coded it, so it would be easier to know where we are at.
The colors were:
Green-Excellent effort and work
Blue- Good
Purple-Partial
Red- Imcomplete

My Blog is Partial which is because in the early lessons I did not know how to use a blog and it is my first time to blog.
For my presentation, I receive a GOOD grade.

Narrative Assignment

The theory of Vladimir Propp involves a stereotypical character plot. Including a hero, heroine, villain, and the father.
It also gave me a knowledge of how most films are the same in terms of how the flow of the film goes, in my opinion, predictable.

For our project on the opening sequence, i could apply the theory of "Equilibrium" to help me construct the plot of the film, especially that our project will be based on psychologically-mystery-horror-thriller.

It could help me on where I can begin my equilibrium, disequilibrium and new equilibrium, so it would be very effective and interesting.

This is the presentation that we made to show the conventions of a thriller film using new released thriller films.
We also looked at who produced the film, who published it and when was the film published and to annotate in detail how we can use different filming techniques from the films that we have researched, applying the same techniques or improving the techniques to our own project.

PARTNER MEDIA FILM RESEARCH

This presentation requires a partner to do. I have teamed up with TaiJarne in order to complete the task.
The task includes researching sub-genres for thriller films also the conventions of a thriller film.
In our presentation, we included still shots from certain films, these films are taken from the history. Director, publisher and the date it was published were also included to give more details of the film.
To widen our knowledge in films, we clearly explained the conventions used in the films, such as, in most thriller films they use women as a fragile and very vulnerable as a victim.

This is my first opening sequence presentation for my Media course. I used my creative and imaginative thinking to compose an opening sequence that would last for a maximum of 2 minutes.
Mr. Foley told me that my idea is too complex and it would be difficult for a producer with no budget to produce such an opening sequence although he liked it and Ms. Connell too.
They were saying if I can pursue my idea, I can still produce it and try to surprise them! :)

Donnielle, Taijarne, Me and Alexa thought of doing a psychological-mystery-horror/thriller film. Ambitious

The main theme for our opening sequence is that to show a man and a series of flashbacks to how the man killed his victims and also to show an album of hairs (hair from the victims).

Everybody agreed on the concept and we are happy to do it.
